Route Notes Stihler and Neumayr reached 7200m on 2 May. Jansen reached 6600m on 1 May and 10 May. He abandoned the expedition due to bad weather and the death of two Sherpas. Soell, Greher and Felder reached 7000m on 2 May. On their summit push on 10 May they reached C2 and found Da Tenji and Lhakpa Wangel Sherpa dead in their tent. They stayed one night at C2 to organize the recovery of the bodies. On 11 May the team carried the bodies down to crampon point, where they were picked up by helicopter on 13 May. Brunner reached C2 on 10 May, the day the Sherpas died. Kirchmair and Bickert reached ABC. Bickert had problems with his knee and Kirchmair had pneumonia. They left BC by helicopter on 24 April. Boebel reached C2 during the acclimatization and on 13 May to collect her belongings. Greher and Soell were intending to climb without supplemental oxygen. The rest of the expedition was intending to use oxygen. Felix remained on Makalu after the main team left and summited on 23 May at 2:15 pm together with Karma Sherpa from C4, from where they started at 9 pm on 22 May. Good conditions, full moon. They stayed for about 20 minutes on the summit. Felix used oxygen from C4 (he did not intend to, but his Sherpa talked him into it), but was uncomfortable with the mask and kept on taking it off. He was fine up until the summit, but got really cold and exhausted on his way down, where he must have got severely frostbitten fingers.
Accidents Lhakpa Wangel Sherpa and Da Tenji Sherpa were found dead in their tent at C2 on 10 May; they died of carbon monoxide poisoning.
