Route Notes BC 18 Apr 5000m ABC 20 Apr 5650m C1 25 Apr 6300m C2 26 Apr 6700m C3 01 May 7200m C4 23 May 7500m HPt 24 May 8100m by Valentini, Ongchu Sherpa at 4:30 am. The entire team arrived at C4 on 23 May at 2 pm. On 24 May Ongchu and Valentini left C4 at 2:15 am. Fronia did not feel well; he had an upset stomach and decided to stay in the tent. Baranowska decided to stay with him. On the climb, there was some fixed rope; however, Ongchu had taken some rope to fix the French couloirs but they did not get that far. When they reached 8100m at 4:30 am, Valentini felt very tired and exhausted and could not carry on. He was shaking and his energy levels very low. He had very cold fingers and toes. They descended to C4 where they arrived at 6:30 am. Baranowska and Rafal had stayed the night at C4, but had started descending to BC at 8:30 am. Ongchu and Valentini rested at C4 for two hours and descended to ABC at 9:15 am, where they arrived at 5:30 pm.
