Route Notes	On the 23rd of April, Aschwanden started at 10 pm from C2 up to 7700m and decided to turn back, as the blue ice conditions from 7700m were too delicate to handle with. On his way down, finding no available space in C2 and knowing no fixed ropes would be put above to cross the blue ice section, he knew he could only go down. Slept that day at C1, then back to the ABC the 24th, then to Hillary BC on the 27th where he stayed 2 days waiting for the helicopter (because of bad weather conditions). On the 30th April, he with Vickers, Celikovic, Gheichisaz and Yang flew back from BC to Kathmandu by helicopter. Ashwanden couldn't watch the accident of Liu Xiang-Yang as he was not anymore above Makalu La on the 24th of April.
