Route Notes The team left for the summit C4 at 2 am. Weather was clear and calm, conditions good. They were climbing with the French team, lead by Alexia Zuberer. However, two members turned around and only Klinke carried on and reached the summit at 6 pm. It turned windy and overcast. He took two pictures and left immediately. He descended to C4, where he arrived at 10:45 pm. The following day he descended to ABC. Johnson tried to summit from C3 on 22nd with Marty Schmidt. They left C3 at 3:30 am and got to 8100m. They turned back at around 1 pm as they thought it was getting too late. Good weather and good conditions, but they thought they were too slow and turned back to C3 and spend the night there. He did not join the summit push on the next day, as he was too tired. Klimek reached 7800m, just below the serac, on 23rd May. He turned back as he did not feel strong enough. He descended to ABC the same day. Meyer reached 8300m on 23rd May, however, it was getting late in the day and he and Lhakpa decided to turn back at 4:30 pm. They descended to C4, the weather had turned really bad by that time. They got very disorientated and were looking for C4 and could not find it. Lhakpa Chhiring slipped and fell but it was a complete white-out; Meyer could not find him. When Chhiring Dorje and the French came down from the summit, they were looking for Lhakpa for about another two hours. They reached C4 at about 11:40 pm and Lhakpa Chhiring was already there. The next day they descended to BC. Sherpa: Lhakpa Tshering, Namche, 11/11/83, Everest in 2004, Cho Oyu in 2003
