Route Notes Summit: 23 May 2010 by Bourgine, De Choudens, Zuberer, Chhiring Dorje, Angdu at 5:30 pm. The whole team (except Gamby), Chhiring Dorje and Angdu left C4 for the summit at 2 am. Weather was clear and calm. Conditions good. They were climbing with the US team, lead by Chris Klinke. Ferragu turned back at 7800m, just below the serac at 4:30 am. She was using oxygen and had a problem with the oxygen mask. She was not getting enough oxygen. She was getting very tired and decided to turn back. She descended to C4, where she arrived at 5:30 am. When she reached C4, Gamby was just leaving the camp to go for the summit. He reached 8100m at about 2 pm. He turned back as he was exhausted. He had not eaten properly the previous day and was too tired. Gotti reached 8200m at about 2:30 pm. There was a short period of bad weather moving in and he decided that he did not want to climb in snow, so he descended to C4. The summit team reached the top at 5:30 pm. They had good views and stayed there for about 15 minutes. They descended to C4, where they arrived at 10 pm. The next day they descended to BC.
