Route Notes BC well up Chago Glacier serac ABC at Chago Glacier C2 below Makalu La C3 above Makalu La. Tried summit attack on 28 Oct from C3 to 7950m and then stopped at blue ice where needed to fix more rope than had. Down to BC same day. 31st started from BC and reached C3 that day at 5:00 pm and found camp had been blown over into Tibet in storm and all gear lost except 2 ice axes, so down to BC at 8:00 pm; "terrible storm" high on mountain. Team delayed arriving at BC because on approach march had gotten stuck in deep snow between Amphu Laptsa and Sherpani Col without food for 4 days. Trekking agent sent helicopter to take them to Lukla and finally to 1 day's march from BC.
