| Route Notes | - Good conditions and good weather on mountain. - Acclimatization on Fox Peak (5777m) above BC. - Thrombose close to the heart by my climbing partner Conrad Anker at about 5700m while climbing to C1 on the route we tried last year. Immediately rappeled and helicopter took him to hospital in KTM. - Solo attempt by me three days later: Climbed obvious snow ramp on the W Face to just below the NW Ridge on day 1. Continued along the W Ridge on day 2 to new high point about 250-300m below the summit. Bivied there one night and rappeled back to ABC the next day, because lost too much energy on the first two days of climbing to make it to the summit and back safe. |
