Route Notes The three French climbers with no Sherpas went to Manang and up into Mustang to climb a variety of small and medium-sized peaks which were "trekking peaks," unauthorized peaks, and one on the expedition permitted list, Bhrikuti, for which they had no permit. They started in Manang with Chulu Far East, which all three of them summited on 21 October, a minor unnamed peak nearby; both of these are not on the permitted list. Then they headed for Pisang Peak, but turned away from it when they saw deep snow on the north face and turned instead to an unnamed peak northwest of it. Their next target was Bhrikuti Sail in Mustang. They pitched their BC on 29 October at 5000m southeast of the mountain, and bivouacked the next day at 5500m near the south tongue of a glacier and below the rock wall at the bottom of the South Face. On the 31st they moved up to their second bivouac at about 6070m halfway up the face on a slope between two crevasses. On 1 November the three members went to the summit of Bhrikuti Sail from the South Face to the SW Ridge, then returned to their second bivouac site. On 2 November Guillaume went east from the second bivouac to a 6910m mountain called Lugula, which was very close, summited it and rejoined his teammates, after which the trio descended to the first bivouac site. On 3 November they were in BC, and their climbing was finished. They trekked to Jomsom, and on the 12th flew to Pokhara and Kathmandu.
