Route Notes BC at usual site on east side of Island Peak C1 at col between Island Peak and Lhotse Shar C2 on ridge High point at C4 site. 20th April Bence looking for C4 site. He alone, descended and no one again that high because of heavy snowfall with avalanches and then strong wind. After that C2 sometimes reached, C3 sometimes but then came snow and wind. Were in BC 60 days and not 1 day it would have been possible to traverse to Lhotse Intermediate because of wind and snow. Left BC 13-14 May. Yugoslavs fixed 1500m of own ropes and some old 1986 Spanish rope. All fixed by time French army arrived.
