Route Notes The team approached their Rolwaling mountain by a jeep ride to Gongar village on the west side of the Bhote Kosi River. From there they trekked up the Bhote Kosi to Simigaon on a hill above the Rolwaling Khola, then east to the villages of Beding and Na. They stayed four days in Na, from where they trekked through the nearby high hills. Then southeast to the large Tsho Lake which is due west of Tengi Ragi Tau and north to a 6611m peak named Langmoche Ri. One member, Matthew Barela, had turned around and left the team on 7 November; the other two, Alan Rousseau and Tino Villaneuva, continued on to Tsho Lake and beyond. They had no fixed camps so far, but on 16 November they made a camp on a high pass (5891m) north of Langmoche Ri. On the 17th Rousseau and Villaneuva climbed from the pass up onto the NW Ridge of Langmoche Ri [and to the summit] and back to the pass on the same day. The climb had not been easy: there were some technically difficult places with numerous cornices, some of which were overhanging; to get onto the ridge, they had to climb a section of the snow covered North Face which got steeper the higher they went, up to 80 degrees by the time they reached the ridge. The next day, the 18th, they left the pass and moved westward to return to Na. They were tired after Langmoche Ri, and the wind was blowing at 60 mph. They never got to the North Ridge of Tengi Ragi Tau, their intended route.
