Route Notes BC on grass at a lake north of Thengpo Glacier C1 at upper Thengpo Glacier above snow wall High point near pt. 5967 on Schneider Rolwaling map north of summit, very near North Ridge. On 24 Nov Ezaki and Kudo climbed from C1 up the east face of the North Ridge to 5950m; route was technically difficult; they fixed 600m of rope and needed 500m more on the snow and ice. They had left a cache of rope in early Nov, when Ezaki had led a successful climbing nearby Parchemo by a larger party but when they returned to this mountain the rope had been stolen. The route was impossible to climb without fixed rope, so instead of establishing C2 at 5950m as planned, and from there gaining the North Ridge and thence to the summit, they had to turn back and the climb was over. They returned to BC the same day and left BC on 27 Nov.
