| Route Notes | Same as Everest team's higher site C4 at bottom of couloir. Had 2 summit teams: 1st team used oxygen which Konishi did not want to use so climbed at different speeds. 1st team left C4 at 3:00 am all 3 reached true top at 3:00 pm and back to C4 to sleep: Man Bahadur Gurung at 7:30 pm and other 2 at 8:00 pm. This season not much snow new snow on 22nd in couloir and this made route more difficult and Phurba had to fix 300m rope in couloir. 23rd to C2. Konishi to C2 24th: 26th towards C3 but didn't get there because his condition "not good" (coughing) and without oxygen "very dangerous to continue up." Turned back at about 7000m and slept in C2 and climb finished. Konishi in acclimatization climb had reached yellow band at 7700m 18 May. Zangbu was with Konishi.
