Route Notes Lhotse Flash Expedition: BC 03/05 5350m C1 13/05 6000m C2 14/05 6440m C3 15/05 7100m C4 16/05 7700m Smt 17/05 by Furtenbach, Grumberg, Backes, Kunga, Lhakpa and Pemba Rinji at 4:45 am. Team left C4 at 11:30 pm on 16/05. Couloir was dry and a bit of rockfall. They spent about 30 mins on summit and descended to C2 where they arrived at 4 pm. Jacoma and Bionda wanted to summit without O2. Bionda reached about 7300m on 16/05 and turned back due to cold and exhaustion. Jacoma reached 7600m on 16/05 and turned back due to exhaustion and cold. Bannister, Chen, Hauer and Jolin had a Lhotse permit, but did not attempt it as they did not have the motivation anymore.
