There must have been about 100 people on the route. Best conditions on the mountain Madison had ever seen on Everest. There is a huge cornice right on the top of Everest now. As they were so early some of them had to stop at the South Summit 3 am to kill some time. They spent about 20 minutes on the summit and descended to C4, where they arrived at around 9:30 am. Lhotse Smt 19/05 by Madison, Miller, Mingmar at 9 am. Lhotse summiters left C4 on Everest at 3:30 am. They changed oxygen at Lhotse C4 and continued to the summit. They spent about 20 minutes on the summit and descended to C2. Everyone (Everest and Lhotse summiters) at C2 on 19/05. |
