Route Notes BC 18/04 5350m C1 -- -- C2 24/04 6400m C3 07/05 7050m C4 18/05 7800m HPt 19/05 8460m by Hashemi, Maani, Nasiri, Dorje Sherpa at 12:10 pm. On 19 May team set out from C4 at 3 am. They were behind the four rope-fixing Sherpas from Arun Treks. Couloir was snowy. When they reached high point, Ang Phurba, who was part of the rope-fixing team fell past the climbing team at about 12:10 pm. Apparently Ang Phurba had been trying to pull out the old fixed rope, slipped and fell to his death. They descended to C2, where they arrived at about 6 pm. On 20 May they went to BC and decided that they would go back up again if the weather allowed. However, weather was bad and they abandoned their attempt.
