Route Notes The Asian Trekking Eco-Lhotse expedition was a combination of several independent teams (1-2 climbers each). Asian Trekking provided transportation, base camp facilities and various levels of high altitude support (oxygen, high-altitude porters, tents, etc) as required and contracted for by each team. The individual accounts for each team are given below: Hazel Gibb (UK) Camps: BC(13/04,5350m),C1(03/05,6000m),C2(04/05,6400m),xxx(05/05,7150m) Left: 17/05/16 Hired: 1 Term: Abandoned at 7150m due to stomach illness. Gibb turned back due to stomach illess at C2. Sunita Choken (India) Camps: BC(14/04,5350m),C1(25/04,6000m),C2(30/04,6400m,),C3(19/05,7300m), C4(20/05,8000m),xxx Left: 24/05/16 Hired: 1 Term: Abandoned at 8000m due to lack of fixed ropes. Sunita and her Sherpa got only to C3 at 8000m. The route above was not open (ropes were not fixed). There were 2 small avalanches between C3 and C4. One Sherpa (Ang Phurba) from the route opening team had a fall of 2000m while fixing the ropes after 8000m. He died on 19 May. Oyxgen: Not used by either Sunita or her Sherpa.
