Route Notes Summit on 19 May by Benegas at 11:08 am on 25 May by Ceppi and Badino at 3:45 pm. Benegas never slept at C4. He started his 19 May summit attempt from C3 at 2:30 am. He met Ben Jones at Lhotse C4 (Jones had come from the South Col that morning). They were both fixing ropes in the couloirs for about 300m. They spent about 19 minutes on the summit. Benegas descended to BC where he arrived at 8 pm. 25 May summit team left C4 at 4 am. There was a lot of rock fall in the couloirs. During the ascent Ceppi got hit by a rock which completely destroyed his helmet. He did not get hurt and carried on climbing. They spent about 10 minutes on the summit and descended to C4, where they arrived at 8 pm. On 26 May they descended to C2 and on 27 May back to BC. They left BC on 31 May. Oxygen: Taken and used from C3 to top to C3 by Benegas. Ceppi and Badino did not use oxygen.
