| Route Notes | C1 at top of Icefall C2 in Western Cwm High point at C2. 2008 Korean Lhotse Expedition, led by Ms. Kim Young-Mi - 4 Nov 2008 One member, Hong Sung-Taek, arrived at BC with the rest of the team on 13 September, stayed only one night and left on the 14th because of personal problems at home. The other three members went three times to C2 at 6500m in the Western Cwm, but never went higher. First priority was given to the attempt by Koreans under Park Young-Seok to scale Everest's SW Face by a new route. Three Sherpas were initially assigned by Park to the Lhotse team, but in fact all three were employed on Everest instead. The three members, Ms Kim, Lee Han-Koo and Lee Hyeong-Mo, moved up to C2 for Lhotse on 4 Oct, spent two nights there, then down to BC on the 6th; on the 18th, stayed only one night because strong wind broke one tent, and back to BC on the 19th; and on 22nd, spent three nights there, and down to BC on the 25th in very strong wind. |
