It took long time to get reply. Member's name list was sent as it appears in the passport. Passport does not carry army rank. Later Delhi asked the Indian Embassy in Beijing to help expedite the permit attaching detailed list of the expedition member with ranks. The Embassy accordingly sent its request for permit and also to give required facilities to expedition. Leader Tripathi thinks that when CTMA received the request letter, it might have found the difference between the previous member list without army rank and the new one with full rank. Then the CTMA replied saying that it cannot extend required facilities to the expedition because it does not has enough time to make necessary arrangement for the Indian expedition. Then the expedition decided to go to Lhotse. |
