Route Notes Gangdal, Dawa Chhiri and Da Chhiri Sherpa left C4 at 03:00 hours on May 13, summited at 07:00 hours, stayed at summit 30 minutes. Descended to C2 at 14:00 hours. Next day to BC. Summit day weather was good, no wind, no clouds, view from summit was very good. Clouds started forming while descending. There was half-meter deep snow between C2 and BC. Alnaes climbed up to 6700m between C2 and C3; she was exhausted and had breathing problem on 5th or 6th May. Other member Oppegaard left expedition on May 4 and Kathmandu on 8th or 9th. Oppegaard had to leave due to his bad behaviour; at one point Gangdal had to leave. Oppegaard wanted to use performance enhancing drugs to climb the mountain which Gangdal refused and did not want to take responsibility for Oppegaard. The expedition returned Kathmandu on May 19 and trying to leave as soon as possible. Gangdal is planning to come for Cho Oyu in autumn next year. Sherpas: Dawa Tshering/Chhiri, 3-8-1971, Gaurishankar-1, Beding, Dolakha. Summited Everest 4 times. Dawa said that he was the first Nepali to summit Everest through NE Ridge (Tibet) with Japanese Expedition. Other summits are on Manaslu, Makalu, Cho Oyu (5 times), Shishapangma (twice), Broad Peak (Central), Ama Dablam (2 times - winter), summited 50 times on Goldsotigen highest peak in Norway.
