Route Notes May 16 Benet, Meroi and Luca Vuerich left (C4) C2 (of this expedition) at 04:30 hours. Benet reached summit at 12:00 hrs, stayed on summit until Vuerich arrived at 14:00 hours. Benet went down about 30m and waited for other member Meroi who reached summit at 15:00 hours. Vuerich and Meroi descended joined by Benet below 30m to camp at 7800m which they reached at 20:00 hours, slept in this camp. Next day to BC. Weather was good on summit; there was an oxygen cylinder - orange color. The expedition member saw a body (probably of Sherpa) at the beginning of coloir. They met a South Korean climber descending on their way up. There were no other climbers on that day. On 15th Kuntner, Andres, Koreans and Swiss expedition members did summit. The expedition returned to KTM on 26th and leaving on 31st for Pakistan to join Italian expedition to K2. Benet, Mrs. Meroi and Vuerich will try from north side and rest of the members will try from south side. Others: Di Lenardo reached up to 7300m on May 9, did not sleep. De Luca (famous writer in Europe) suffered from mild headache, stomach disorder. Left BC either on 17th or 18th; maybe left Nepal on 24th. Stroppolo reached up to 6400m on May 15 - spent night at C1 (C2) for this expedition. Marina Vuerich same as Stroppolo. All these members were not planning to go to summit.
