Route Notes BC at 5400m EvBC C1 at 5800m usual campsite (night spent by Choi Jin-Chul, Chung Sang-Mo, Kwon Sang-Hyok, Park Mu-Taek and Nuri) C2 at 6300m usual campsite (night spent by Choi Jin-Chul, Chung Sang-Mo, Kwon Sang-Hyok, Park Mu-Taek and Nuri) C3 at 7200m usual campsite (night spent by Baek Joon-Ho, Han Byung-Yup, Park Mu-Taek and Nuri and Lhakpa) C4 at 7900m usual campsite (night spent by Kwon Sang-Hyok, Lee Bong-Yeul, Park Mu-Taek) First summit on 12 May 2003: Kwon Sang-Hyok, Lee Bong-Yeul, Park Mu-Taek and Nuri Chhiri Sherpa left C4 at 3:30 am, reached summit at 11:00 am and stayed there for about 45 minutes. Kwon Sang-Hyok and Nuri returned to C2 and reached there at 5:00 pm. Lee Bong-Yeul and Park Mu-Taek descended to C3 and reached there around 5:00 pm. Next days all three, Kwon Sang-Hyok, Lee Bong-Yeul and Park Mu-Taek returned to BC except for Nuri who remained at C2. Second summit on 13 May 2003: Baek Joon-Ho and Han Byung-Yup left C4 at 1:30 am and reached the summit at 8:35 am. Stayed at the summit for approx 1 hour and returned to C2 at 6:30 pm. They descended to BC the following day. On both the summit dates the weather remained normal. Rest of the climbers details: Cheong Myeong-Young, BC Manager - stayed at BC Choi Gwang-Deuk - C3 Choi Jin-Chul, Chung Sang-Mo, Kang Kyoung-Mo and Kim Jong-Woo - C2 Kang Ki-Seok - C4 Fixed ropes along with the Japanese team from serac to C3.
