Route Notes The team intended at first to climb the South Pillar of Kyashar, but the weather forecast engineer gave them wrong information predicting for them bad weather conditions. For that reason the team didn't try the South Pillar; even if the weather happened to be very beautiful, in fact with bad weather the retreat on the South Pillar would be very problematic and difficult. Thus even without a permit, the team decided to try the West Ridge which is less commited on the way down in bad weather. The team bivouacked 2 nights at 5700m reaching 6400m on the West Ridge on 10 Nov. They didn't have enough bivouac gear to sleep at 6400m, so had to turn back to Biv 1, and not even had time left to try it again. Morever, the same day they could watch from their Biv 3 lights on South Pillar of Kyashar. Apparently a Japanese team (confirmed by Paul Noble and Loben Sherpas) the day after they could see them again higher on the South Pillar. The expedition was over from there, the team was quite disappointed.
