Route Notes Iwa-To-Yuki, April 84 The 7-man AAVK's OB party of Osaka, led by Masato Okamoto (35), climbed by SE Face. The party traced the Takamatsu Ciy Workers Alpine Club party's of 1979. They made BC (4900m) on Oct 6. Two members attempted an alpine style push but the bad weather forced them to abandon it. Five members made ABC (5600m) on 10th. On 14th Yasuji Takatsuka (27), Tatsuya Ohmura (24), Masahiro Nomura (28) and Yoshiaki Horie (26) set out from ABC and reached a col at 6190m and bivouaced there. They reached the top of the main peak next morning. On 15th Kaname Minemoto (28), Atsushi Fujiyama (26) and leader Okamoto set out ABC and bivouacked at 6000m. They reached the top of North Peak next afternoon. BC was evacuated on 19th. Iwa-To-Yuki 1984 The 7-man Kansai Students Mtng Federation party of Japan led by Masato Okamoto (35), climbed by SE Ridge by all members in autumn. BC (4900m) was made on Oct 6 and Masahiro Nomura (28) and Yoshiaki Horie (26) who had just come back from Masherbrum attempted an alpine-style push, but were soon repelled by bad weather. Loads were ferried to 5500m and ABC (5600m) was made on 10th. Yasuji Takatsuka (27), Tatsuya Ohmura (24) and Nomura and Horie set out ABC on 14th and reached the top via the 6190m col and bivouacked there, North Peak and to the top at 11:15 on 15th. Kaname Minemoto (28), Atsushi Fujiyama(26) and leader Okamoto also got to the top of North Peak on 16th.
