Route Notes The team took a bus from Kathmandu and a flight to a small landing field at Talcha, southeast of Rara Lake. They trekked to BC, which they pitched on 8 November. They had taken with them a Nepalese guide to lead them to the correct valley from which to climb the mountain's NW Ridge. The guide unfortunately took them into the wrong valley. They discovered this mistake after a few days, but in the meantime they divided into two groups: on the 14th and 15th Pius and Sowlinski made a recce up the Koji Khola valley to 5300m; they should have been in the next valley to the north, but were unable to cross into the Kojichuwa valley so returned to BC on the 15th. The other members climbed a 5336m peak north of BC on 15 November and went back to BC the same day. The team had no time to trek into the correct valley and then climb the mountain. Their plans for an ascent of Kojichuwa Chuli were now abandoned and they left BC on the 17th. One member, Rabih Bo Said, got frostbite on three toes, but this will heal.
