Route Notes BC on grass C1 at rock band at beginning of SW Ridge. Intended to climb from north onto Kanjiroba but rocky, white water area, so turned north towards border with Tibet and made BC from which climbed a peak 6430m (unnamed) west of Palchung Hamga in Kanti Himal. Route was ice ridge from C1; from BC gears, moraine, smooth rock from retreating glacier to C1 at bottom of SW Ridge. Ridge 45-50 degrees, sharp, huge cornices on north side, but safe and not technically difficult. No food available east of Jumla except meat at Chiti. From Chiti to Phopagaon saw no local people at all. Had to have all supplies with 42 porters for 5 foreigners, of whom 2 were the climbers (hired porters in Trisuli Bazar, took them by bus to Surkhet and walked for 12-14 days to Jumla; had to feed all porters below BC throughout climb). Climbed only one peak because had to be sure to catch flight from Juphal. Did not fix rope. No sight of snow from 2nd Oct to 3 Nov. No clouds seen. Kroell and Mross climbed the SW Ridge of an unnamed peak (6430m) on 18 Oct 1993.
