| Route Notes | 8 May 73 Arrive today Hiroshi Hattori, Koichi Kyogoku, Nobuaki Nomura and other 3 day after tomorrow. Climbed the peak they intended to climb. 22 April Koichi Kyoguku, Yasuaki Goshima, sirdar Mingma Tsering and Mingma Tenzing to summit. 23 April Hiroshi Hattori, Koichi, Masaru Sakamoto and Pasang Phurba Sherpa to summit. "That not was easy, good Sherpas and good weather." Team work good cause Japanese ate same food as Sherpas. C4 highest about 6000m; established 21 April by Hiroshi Hattori, Yasuaki Goshima and Masaru Sakamoto. Summit reached on 22nd 12:30; very long snow and icefall and deep deep crevasse; left C4 5:50 am. 21st very bad weather; snow 22nd good weather in morning, but very windy; snowing in afternoon on return and reached C3 at 5:00 pm. 23rd almost same time: 12:15 on summit; very bad, snow and wind from 9 am; left C4 at 5:20 am. No accidents, illness or frostbite Leader to C2 only Stay KTM more then 1 week Watanabe - 12 March 73 6 members; all arrive KTM today. Kanjiroba mountain group west and northwest of Phoksundo Lake of which group highest peak is 6660m = 21850 ft. Fly to Jumla 17 March and thence by foot via Kaigaon and Bangthami, Para (June) Darjam Khola and north (east of point 16,280 ft) with BC west of point 21,640 and 21,850 ft. BC about 4000m on 1 April 4 high camps 6000m - summit 3rd part April Arrive back at Jumla middle May 4 Sherpas including 1 Kitchen boy and 1 sirdar |
