Route Notes BC at Meta (200m from British BC). 1st summit attack on 29 April by Kang In-Sun and Hong Soon-Gug and Pasang Norbu and Kipa Sherpa from 1st C3. They reached 6820m at 6:00 pm in bad weather and returned to C3. Decided C3 too low for success so moved it 300m higher next day and success came on 1 May. For details see Ministry of Tourism report of 8 May 1984. At first planned SW Ridge, but could see it very difficult and dangerously falling ice, so climbed most of way up W Face and joined ridge at about 6800m. Route not so difficult. Only 1 Korean top: 1st 2 trying became tired and one man altitude sickness.
