| Route Notes | BC east of Meta C2 at top of rock, start of snow. Summiters slept in C2 from top and BC on 7th. Sherpas didn't know where places were suitable to put camps and Ruyer and Mingma had to make recce to find them. Not difficult. Problem was snow was melting in midway; bridges of snow over crevasses were very thin. Fixed rope on glacier between C1 and C2 to make it easier to carry backpack. Dumontier stayed in BC throughout climb - wasn't well. |
