Route Notes BC at normal site C3 on plateau. Summit day good weather and warm. 7th May 1st summit bid stopped at 7500m by cloud, snow and fatigue so left loads for making C4 here and down to BC. 8th May start up again: Park Young-Seok, Kang and 5 Sherpas and pitch C4 on 11 May; 3 Sherpas down to C3. 12 May 1:50 am up from C4 and 3:25 pm summit reached by Park and 2 Sherpas while Kang with heavy load including cameras turned down at almost 8000m and down to C3; biv at 8100m because had only one headlamp and very dark; very steep and could not safely return to C4 before daylight. Snow blind now in biv - stopped at 9:30-10:00 pm and 4:30-5:00 am. 13 May resumed descent and at C4 8:00 am and to C3 2:30 pm. BC 14th May. Summit area very steep rock.
