Route Notes Report from Lukas Furtenbach: After Everest Rebecca Long and Benjamin Lieber together with Sange, Tashi and Pasang went to Kangchenjunga: May 23 Lukla to KBC by heli. May 24 KBC to C2 direct May 25 C2 to C3 May 26 C3 to C4 May 26 8 pm departure from C4 for summit May 27 C4 to KBC They turned around at 7800m due to dangerous wind loading at the entrance of the couloir. Waist deep with a wind slab on top. During the previous days it had snowed more than a foot and wind drifts were even deeper. They broke our own trail both up and down the mountain, digging up the ropes as we went. 7800m high point at 10:00 pm reached by: Sange Sherpa Tashi Sherpa Pasang Sherpa Rebecca Long Benjamin Lieber Departure from KBC to Kathmandu on morning of May 28. Oxygen used from C2.
