This Spanish team of two climbers led by Cadiach included Fernandez. They were supposed to climb together, but their dates of arrival to Kathmandu and departures to the mountain were on different dates. The summit push: Cadiach left C4 at 6 pm of 19 May without supplementary oxygen for the summit and Fernandez left the camp at 7:30 pm with supplementary oxygen and her Sherpa Ang Kami. Fernandez got to the top at 8 am on 20 May and stayed on top for about 35 minutes. She descended to C4 where she reached at about 2:30 pm. She spent the night there and next day 21 May went down to BC. Cadiach without supplementary oxgyen and without Sherpa got to 8300m [8100m according to Brands] at 4 am of 20 May and ran out of energy due to the long walk. Swiss climber Brands on his way up found Cadiach standing and shivering. Brands continued his climb about 100m, but decided to return to Cadiach thinking that he need help to go down. Brands tried to give his oxygen to Cadiach, first he refused to use it. Cadiach said that he used Brand's oxygen for about three minutes in two different times. They got to C4 about 10 am.
