Route Notes Both members and their two Sherpas, Dawa Finchok and Mingma Temba left C4 for the summit at 7:30 pm on 19 May. The four climbers arrived at the top between 8:00 and 8:15 am on the 20th in "fantastic:" weather with little wind, and were back in C4 at 2:00 pm that day. They started down from C4 at 8:30 am on the 21st and ten minutes later encountered Cleo Wiedlich, an American independent climber, and her two Sherpas; she had a badly injured leg and was expecting to be evacuated by helicopter from C2 at 11 am. They waited for her in C2, but she did not show up; she had remained that night in C3. They went up on the 22nd to C3 to find Wiedlich, and took her down to C2. They reached C2 at 6:30 pm, then got down to BC on the 23rd; she was "pretty tired." Murphy's toes were slightly frostbitten and became numb, but no flesh was damaged.
