| Route Notes | BC at Green Lake ABC at Zemu Glacier C1 at bottom of East Ridge High point at East Ridge. After making C1 on 21 April and sleeping there, down to BC to rest and to take up equipment especially rope. One group of Arnold, Maringer, Jaeger and Wasserbauer up to C1 to forge route about and reached about 6200m and back to C1. Next day second group of Gruber, Maringer, Miss Bauer, Kritzinger and Putz from C1 but got only 1 or 2m higher and down to C1. These attempts were on very sharp East Ridge covered by impassible snow and on left side of ridge snow chest-deep and also impassible, so in C1 team decided not possible to continue climb and all down next day to ABC. Wasserbauer, was leader of first party and Putz led second one. |
