| Route Notes | High point on Great Shelf at British expedition's C3. Georges 50 days in BC: "so long crazy." Did not make C3 but twice slept in British camp and in Joos tent at 7800-7900m and Bonuin there also to 7800-7900m, but did not sleep there. Many times up and down, 7 times to 7000m and always new snow falling in afternoon so down again. Georges to 7800m with one Sherpa Pemba Manaslu (other visits to 7800m were without Sherpas). Abandoned climb because so much snowfall and "little team it is difficult." On 22 May decided to make last attempt for top and ordered porters for 27 May at BC. |
