| Route Notes | Before 12 May lot of bad weather at Lhonak. Good weather on 12th up Broken Glacier and camped 5250m that night. 13th of Long Ridge Pass at 5800m. 14th up onto end of West Ridge of Jongsang and then east-northeast on this ridge, very steep and sharp; had long day's recce here which convinced Griffin didn't want to go on further without another person who would be safety-conscious and technically higher skilled, so came down to camp of 5800m. 15th snowed all day. 16th went onto a spur towards West Ridge of Jongsang to 6250m col and again to 5800m. 17th decided to abandon because Griffin not happy to continue without other partner. 17th night to Lhonak. |
