Route Notes BC at Yamatori Glacier just west of Tharpa C1 at Yamatori Glacier and into side glacier eastward C2 at Providence Glacier Biv at top of Tete de Buttress Biv at top of Tete de Dentelle Biv at top of Throne Glacier Biv at top South Shoulder. Small pieces of rock fall at C1 so it was moved and became C2. On 13th April Driscoll and White made summit attempt from 7100m biv and got 400 ft from summit. Now too late and cold and so back to 7100m. 14th these 2 men to south shoulder and biv there and from this point to summit (down 9 am to 4 pm) on more difficult climb of final couloir to summit ridge than expected and slept at south shoulder and on 16th to C3. 2 others [Legg and Durtler] reached C6, one sick [Legg] so these two down on 14th. Before this the 4 members had climbed together from C3 starting on 10th.
