Route Notes BC at Khumbhakarna Glacier C1 on rock at top ot 1st pillar, just below plateau Fixed rope from 4700m almost all the way to high point (not on glacier, only on steep sections). On 2 Oct got to 6600m and many snow and rock avalanching from upper face. Steck hit by snow and ice avalanche but not hurt ("just lucky" he says). Had been snowing from one weak before this. Down to C1 and decided to abandon climb next day because of dangerous avalanching. Got direct sun only 1 hour/day so was very cold. 4 Oct went up from C1 to bring down gear and was very cold and windy.
