Route Notes After the death of 3 Sherpas of another team (this team having left), the duo was at first alone for climbing up on the mountain. Climbing in autonomy, the duo did three respective ascents to C1, C1B and C2, each time starting from base camp and going there directly, then going back to the base camp the day after. Above C2, the conditions with a notable avalanche danger added with the altitude and no Sherpa support forced them to abort their attempt, definitely when they heard about a bad weather period coming from the 11th October. In fact it seems that after the 10th October, according to them, nobody climbed above C2. The duo didn't used any of the ropes fixed by the New Zealanders and Dutch Sherpas between C1 and C1B (even the one fixed by the Dutch Sherpas around the 8th October from C1B to C2, which appeared not to be very useful).
