Route Notes Hans Rauner remarks that the Himlung BC is not correctly located in the maps (on the way up, it is located on the left side more behind. (On the wrong maps, it is currently located on the right side of the glacier) Fixed rope: Rauner's group took 400m of it, but didn't use it. 600m were already put by other teams (6 or 7 expeditions were with them on the mountain), mostly between C1 and C2 (3 to 400m) just above C2 (50m on a steep part) and after C3 (2 to 300m until 6700m). Schedule ascent: On 24th of October: Hans Rauner, Andre Reithebuch and the 2 Sherpas stopped at 7000m due to strong winds (100km/h) and without sun light. The last part above 6700m, the steepest one, was not yet equipped with fixed rope, what in these conditions would have been useful. (In fact last part consists of 35/40-degree slopes, partly snowy and icy, but not difficult technically). Rauner and Reithebuch had 1st degree frostbite on nose and fingers. Sherpa also (on the face)! The team didn't have enough time to try again. Sherpas: Tshering Thendu Sherpa, 3/10/1975, Khumjung-2 Samden (Sonam) Bhote, (9/4/2036), Hatiya-2
