Route Notes BC at 150m above the river and 200m below the Himlung BC. Swiss Phu Kang Expedition 2008 Autumn On 16 October Addor, Blanchard and Tejedor went up along the river to the place where the team originally planned to put up in BC near the lake at 4900m to see the route to Phu Kang. They could not find any possible access to Phu Kang from that area and returned to BC same day. On 17 October Addor, Blanchard, Ms Bonard, Ms Jacquemettaz, Krugel and Tejedor climbed up to C1 (5550m) of Himlung to observe once again the probable route along the glacier and returned to BC. On 25 October Addor, Blanchard and Krugel went to C1 of Himlung and slept there. On 26 October they climbed to C2 (6200m) and slept there. On 27 October Addor, Blanchard, and Krugel left C2 at 9 am. Blanchard reached summit of Himlung at 3 pm; Addor and Krugel stopped at 200m below the summit. They descended together to C2 at 6 pm slept there. Next day to Phu Kang BC. Addor, Ms Bonard, Krugel and Tejedor went to Ratna Chuli BC on 1 November to see the possible way to Phu Kang and returned to BC same day. They saw from Ratna Chuli BC the beginning and end of the glacier and Phu Kang but they could not see the middle part of the glacier. The team returned to Kathmandu on 7 November. Members planning to visit Chitwan and some other places then will leave the country on 16 November.
