Route Notes Summit team left C3 at 6 am together with Mateos, Argote, Ibiricu at 8 am. Argote got very cold feet at about 6500m and decided to turn back. Ibiricu descended with him to C2. They stayed the night and nursed Argote's frostbite, which he had on both feet. Summit team and Mateos carried on. Mateos turned back at 7060m; he was behind Zelaia and Sandu was not feeling well; he was exhausted. When Zelaia and Sandu returned from summit, Mateos turned back with them. They descended to C3, arrived at 11 pm. There was a lot of snow on summit route and they had to break trail. On 13 Oct they descended to BC. Betelu, Legarra reached C1 on various days. They ascended several times to carry things up. They did not carry on as they were too tired from all the carries they had done. Furthermore Betelu was needed at BC due to members medical problems. Casi and Villanueva reached C3 on 12 Oct. They did not stay the night as Casi had problems with his lungs and as they were quite late in the expedition; they decided to abandon expedition. They descended to BC same day. Elena Yanguas reached BC on 30 Sept; she suffered from cerebral edema and had to be evacuated by helicopter to Kathmandu on 2 Oct. Yanguas Javier left with Elena; she is his sister. Fixed rope: 50m below summit. On 9 Oct Oasi and Villanueva climbed a subpeak of Himlung (it is 5935m). They climbed the west side of this peak in one day. They started from Himlung BC at 10 am and arrived at summit at 3:30 pm. Route was snowy and not difficult, however, just below the summit the slope was about 60 degrees. They returned to Himlung BC same day and arrived at 5:30 pm.
