| Route Notes | C3 not the usual C3 site; the usual C3 site is 6300m and further below from the C3 the team put up its camp. The team was proceeding to C3 from C2 at 6700m where the team reached around 3 pm. Found big crevasse blocking the route; it was foggy day and could not figure out the condition of crevasse. The team turned around to 6600m and camped for the night. Considering the rapid deterioration of the weather (fog with less than 50 inches visibility and snowfall), the team decided against further exploration of the situation. The team abandoned the climb and returned to Kathmandu on 20 May and will leave on 23rd. Fixed rope: 100m between C1 to C2. Hired: Pemba Tamang, 31/5/73 (18/2/2030), Taksindu-3, Manaslu 20/5/06 |
