Route Notes C1 at small plateau before ridge with serac begins C2 at shoulder C3 at bottom of first summit ridge. Put C2 lower than used 6200m because of deep snow. C2 not occupied before 17th because of snowfalling. Now only 5 members. Bondetti, Brun, Chevalier, Durrand and Segla had to return to work and left expedition 16th. C2 placed on a shoulder leading to sharp ridge under seracs, which was not a safe place but a good place for carrying. Summit party of 4 members and 3 Nepalese left C3 but 7:00 am after there was at last a little sunshine but wind was strong. All stopped at 6800m at between 9:30 am and 10:00 am because feet getting extremely cold and went down to C1 to sleep. To BC on 20th. No more summit bids because no time left for them on right schedule. Nepalis: Mulal Gurung of Churen Himal Trekking Pasang Sherpa, 28 Ang Pasang Sherpa, 36
