| Route Notes | BC south of Phu Khola ABC at small plateau on moraine C1 on West Ridge on snow C2 on West Ridge C3 before foresummit C4 at 6400m other side of foresummit. Heavy snowfall night of 11th so down to BC 12th. 14th back to C1. 16th to C2 and on up each day. Pilz, Oblak and 3 Tamangs left C4 for top at 8:15 am having waited for sun to start so "not so icy cold" wind. All 5 on top 3:15 pm having had to break from about 6550m (3 French women (Zuberor and teammates); "bitterly cold." Returned to C4 at 7:00 pm. All other members had gone back while Oblak and Pilz went on to C4 that day. Climb now finished. 20th all in BC. |
