| Route Notes | On 18th October the team climbed to C2 from BC then slept at C1. This day Philippe Poincloux left the expedition and came to Kathmandu because he was obviously not on the good travel. On 19th October the team (Charlot, Chatellain, Croizet, Froger and Le Menajour) climbed to C3 from C1 and slept at C2. This day, Christophe Mattern left for trekking because he was technically not enough skilled. He joined the team back in Kathmandu. On 20th October the team had a rest at C2. On 21st October the team joined C3 and slept there. On 22nd October the slept at C4. On 23rd October the team reached the summit. Gyajikang consists of a very long ridge necessiting 4 camps. The team climbed almost in alpine style: Mickael Croizet had 2 clients on his rope and the two Sherpas were give one client each. Yves Froger contracted light 1st degree frosbites on the fingers (used Deflecten on it). Julien Sanchez stayed most of time at the base camp, being very sick when he slept one time at C2. Fixed rope, oxygen and Sherpas: The team fixed 150m of rope: 40m above C2 (loose rock section) and 110m from C4 to the summit (on the sharp ridge with steep slopes, Mickael Croizet had to put in a hand rope). He left 80 meters on the ridge and took back the remnant. The team didn't use oxygen, but carried its hyperbaric chamber until C3 (didn't use it).
