Route Notes High point 8 Nov (ca 6000m) on the long ridge leading towards Phugaon. The high camp is reached over slopes with no difficulties. Then the ridge becomes icy and narrow. We were forced to stop at a narrow ridge consisting of very rotten rock where we didn’t want to take such a big risk of a long fall with all that rubbish. We planned to make one more camp, but this passage was too dangerous. We went down to BC and looked for another possibility on the NW glacier and put a high camp at 5400m at 10 Nov. We tried to find a route through the many huge crevasses, but were running out of time. We left BC at 13 Nov. I had a description of the route from Paulo Grobel where nothing was mentioned about a risky ridge, but only about not too difficult passages. Perhaps something has changed.
