Route Notes Our main gaol it was South Face of Gaurishankar, but we had some logistics problems. Then we decided to try the Japanese route (SE Ridge) in alpine style. The first attempt was on a lateral ridge to the beginning of the SE Ridge at 6300m, where there was very poor and crushed rock (7-9.11.2010, the highest point ca. 5500m, dif. III UIAA). The second attampt was on the Japanese route (SE Face to beginning of SE Ridge at 6300m) (16-18.11.2010, the highest point ca. 6050m, dif. IV UIAA, snow 50-60 (max 70) degrees).
