Route Notes BC just on west side of Annapurna III's SSW Ridge C1 at grassy ridge line cutting glacier C2 at base of yellow rock buttress High point at glacier/icefall to west of a rock buttress. Glaciers unusually broken up by unusually dry conditions. First climbed Tent Peak for acclimatization then moved onto Gangapurna BC for climb to col between Gangapurna and Annapurna III. But could not find way beyond C2 because rock buttress teaming with falling rocks and glacier on both sides of buttress maze of seracs & crevasses. Was possible route to W Ridge but by 9th Dec decided not enough time and had no permit for W Ridge (plus LO Uma Nath Pandey never reached BC so could not get his permission).
Accidents Kelly serious viral illness; LO became psychotic on approach march
