Route Notes Team attempted to ascend Gangapurna N Face, traverse Annapurna III NE Ridge and descend Annapurna III N Ridge. Neither summit reached and no traverse made. Expedition split into two teams and attacked both peaks simultaneously. Later abandoned Annapurna III attempt and concentrated on Gangapurna. Were able to make route safe from avalanches, which came down on both sides of route between C2 and C4, but plagued by frequent heavy snowfall. Used 1000m fixed rope C2->C3 and C3->C4 none, BC - (2x50m only). 28 Sept was summit attack day but heavy snow fell and had to descend (Cho and Ang Kami on 28th did not go above C4 but instead descended). C2 tent broken by heavy snow on 28th. No further summit bid because Koreans very tired and Sherpas did not want to climb any more (some were sick). All in BC at end of month and finally 3 Oct decided no more climbing.
